Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)
by JUSC Medical
IMPORTANT UPDATE Regarding Services from Dr Scheffer.
Thank you for your continued trust in my medical care. I would like to share some important updates regarding my professional practice and the future of JUSC (jusc.co.nz) and chronicfatiguesyndrome.co.nz.
As of 1 April 2026, these websites and associated independent services will be discontinued. This change marks the next step in my career, as I will have completed my training and be awarded Fellowship with the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians (ACSEP). From that date onward, I will continue my clinical work exclusively as a Sport and Exercise Physician at Pinnacle Sports Medicine.
What This Means for You
- ME/CFS Care Continues: I will remain available for ME/CFS consultations, now provided via virtual appointments through Pinnacle Sports Medicine.
- New Fees From 1 April 2026: Consultation fees will change to reflect my new qualification level and clinical framework. Updated pricing will be published in due course.
- Existing Bookings: All appointments made up to 1 April 2026 will continue under current arrangements and pricing.
- Administrative Break: The JUSC administration team will be unavailable from 20 December 2025 to 11 January 2026. Emails received during this period will not be monitored and will be responded to after 11 January.
I am grateful for the support and confidence you have shown in me throughout my practice journey. I look forward to continuing to provide specialised care in ME/CFS and sports medicine within the Pinnacle team.
Warm regards,
Dr Judikje Scheffer

Over the past few years, Dr. Scheffer has a built up a large knowledge of ME/CFS and has the experience needed to help patients improve their wellbeing. Due to close personal involvement with CFS she knows the impact of illness on patients and their whanau, and is able to understand the challenges patients are dealing with every day. Giving patients clarity around and information about the diagnosis is a first step in the consultation. Once the diagnosis has been confirmed, Dr. Scheffer has made it her mission to deliver compassionate care with a patient-centered approach, supporting patients manage their symptoms and teach pacing techniques which are essential in the recovery process.
Dr. Judikje Scheffer is working in close collaboration with recently retired Dr. Ros Vallings, who is an expert on the subject of ME/CFS, to stay up to date of the latest developments around CFS and possible treatments.
ME/CFS is a complex diagnosis and to support patients as good as possible consultations at JUSC Medical are of longer duration than usual GP consults. The initial consultation takes one hour and follow up consultations will take half an hour. Consults will take place via Telehealth, as this has shown to help patients conserve energy and travel time.
